First off, I would have liked to have been able to make this post with a video attached, but both the pictures I had filmed, either the footage got corrupt, or I have no idea what music should go along with it.
So, I may be able to get a hold of a video for one of them and post it later.
And without further ado, here are my two most recent pictures, taking a very wide turn to color, and realizing just how much I hate coloring black people. (Non-racist, I'll describe that later.)
This was the one I wanted to film but most of the footage got corrupted so that just went boom and bust. Nevertheless, this was my final, and last, art project I'll do in high school, and I'm fairly proud of it. It was first a sketch in my agenda scanned in and digitally inked, and all done in GIMP, I only used three colors for each rose, four including the inking on each. The whole idea was to go from colder to warmer colors, but obviously I deviated from that a bit.
This was just a gesture drawing to start out with, and the whole idea I wanted to get down was the face paint, which you can't really even see in detail, but, I still had fun with it.
So here's why I didn't enjoy entirely the making of this pic, is because her skin is so dark, I could barely see a thing of her until I added lighting, which is usually one of my last steps!
But I do like how it turned out, out of everything to experiment with a medley of colors, and to get the character down on paper.
Traditional sketch, digital coloring on GIMP, and I do have a video of the making of this but I don't have any decent music to put with it.
I'll post it when I get to it, probably after graduation, any questions, just ask.
And would I suggest seeing at least the second painting up close? Most definitely.

An Array
Listing them out now, here are some of my recent/close-to-recent works, all done in either GIMP or Photoshop 7, some with an outside traditional sketch. The first is my most recent, but otherwise they don't go in chronological order. Too, some I'm rather pleased with, one or two I'm not entirely keen on, and one with a blaring mistake that is now too late to fix, but I won't mention it now :)

Polished
Here is the polished up piece from the video.
I actually sold this piece in an auction for a fundraiser, apparently clocks appeal well to the general public. ;)
I made it in GIMP, took maybe five hours, though I honestly don't remember since it was done some time ago, so don't take my word for it.
Also, here are a few other pieces, mostly done in GIMP, maybe some tweaks in Photoshop 7:
The rose was done a while ago, and based off of one of my sister's photographs.
The landscape I did for a simple study, a challenge to draw a landscape in 30 minutes, just to practice. I also sold it in the same auction as the clockwork picture.

Here goes something.
¡Hola! Bienvenidos a South Paw Kiss, and don't worry, it won't all be in Spanish :)
Starting post might as well be an explanation, yes? I am an aspiring animator/artist, more leaning towards the digital side of paint. I'm starting up this blog because I figure it'd be a nice way to share some of my art, and maybe give some hints and tips as well as gathering my own fair share of techniques! So I'll be posting pictures and videos of my art, and if I get into it, I'll describe some processes.
So while I'm getting the hang of all this, here's a video of one of my works, sped up to who knows how many times and added some good music, so enjoy!
And I'll post the finished and retouched picture here later.
